Maurice's father was Boruch Kaplan and his mother was Chana Pesa (Annie) Gittelman.  His paternal grandparents are Isaac Kaplan and ? ?; his maternal grandparents were Abe Gittelman and Malke Bloch.  He had five brothers named Jack, Aaron, Saul, Maximillian William and Aubrey.  He died on March 17th, 1991.
