Max's father was Jacob Sher and his mother was Nora (Nechamah) Cohen.  His paternal grandfather was Menachem Mendel Sher and his paternal grandmother is ? ?; his maternal grandparents are Shmuel Cohen and ? ?.  He had a brother and three sisters, named Louis, Katie, Milly and Thelma (Tilly).  He died on June 7th, 1960.
